P/W/PTSD: Intro

Hello all!

My name is Chad Freeman, and I am a war veteran of the United States Army. I spent two tours in Iraq dealing with car bombs, rockets, mortars, convoys, bullets, flying over enemy territory, and a helicopter crash. Needless to say, I was affected. I have been clinically diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by two separate medical professionals (one physical and one psychological), among other things, and the VA has been kind enough to establish a monthly stipend for me in that effect.

I also am the father of two wonderful (read: insane and hyperactive) boys. So, not only am I dealing with my own issues, but I have these two working at me like a cheese grater. I love them with my heart and soul, but I often want to send them to the Kuiper Belt (look it up ;Þ).

In essence, this blog will be a combination of my experiences as a father with PTSD and dealing with the stresses that come along with it, and part good advice that I have come across that are good ideas and seem to be helping me.

The language may be coarse (hey, I'm an Army boy...what did you expect?), and I tend to take things straight to the point, but I will also try to make it interesting and humorous.
